Welcome to the Information Commons! We have developed this web site in
response to frequent requests for
information and site visits from our colleagues in higher education who
are considering or planning an Information Commons or Learning Commons at
their institution.
Herman B Wells Library
1320 East Tenth Street, Bloomington, Indiana 47405
As a partnership between the Indiana University Bloomington (IUB)
Libraries and University Information Technology Services, the Information
Commons (IC) supports and enhances student learning and research by
providing state of the art technology and resources in an academic
environment. The IC is located on the first two floors of the west tower
of the
Herman B Wells Library which was built on the Bloomington campus in
1969.
The Information Commons is a place for students to interact, get technology support and research assistance, attend technology and research workshops or classes, and work in groups together or individually on course assignments. Each floor of the IC provides two distinct learning environments to accommodate the diverse learning styles and needs of IUB students.
